Ensure that magnet current leads are completely lowered. Cool gas should be allowed to flow through them. To get sufficient flow rate, its probably necessary to close the main recovery path from the bath. The needle valve & recovery from sample space may still be left open, however. Turn on controller and power supply. Set current limit to desired value. Lock. Turn on persistent switch heater, wait 30s. Ramp current up (use ramp rate 0.1 A). i.e. flip the switch on the right of the controller to "up" setting. When desired current is reached, wait a minute (to avoid any delays due to inductance) Turn off persistent switch heater, wait 30s. Ramp current down (controller switch to "down" setting"). Leave the current limit locked (so that power supply current can easily be re-synced later). Wait a minute with current at zero, then turn off electronics if desired.
